Holy Week at Asbury

Sunday, March 29 - Sunday, April 5

Join us to celebrate the miracle of Easter at Asbury! This Easter, we hope you can join us as we experience the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus through song, prayer, and reflection. We're offering several different events that will each give a unique experience of Holy Week.

  • Sunday, March 29:  "Behold the Darkness" Choir Cantata at 9 & 11 am in the Sanctuary.
The Chancel Choir will present the cantata “Behold the Darkness” by Harlan.  This sensitive cantata will take us on Christ’s passion journey using a blend of classic and original music.

  • Thursday, April 2:  Maundy Thursday Service at 7 pm in the Sanctuary.
Join us as we commemorate the Last Supper when Jesus shared the Passover meal with his disciples on the night before he was crucified.

  • Friday, April 3:  Good Friday Service at 7 pm in the Sanctuary.
Good Friday proclaims God's purpose of loving and redeeming the world even in the face of human rejection and cruelty through the cross of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

  • Saturday, April 4:  Community Easter Egg Hunt at 10 am in Bennett Park (77th & Rosewood, Prairie Village).
Join us for this fun family-friendly event for the whole community! Children can hunt for Easter Eggs and meet and have their photo taken with the Easter Bunny.

  • Sunday, April 5:  Easter Sunday
    • 7:00 am:  Youth-led Sunrise Service in the Sanctuary, followed by a potluck breakfast in Hager Hall.
    • 9:00 & 11:00 am:  Easter Worship in the Sanctuary.  All are welcome to any of our services!
