About Us
Following the Biblical directive to “feed the hungry,” Asbury members started a community food pantry at the onset of the COVID pandemic. It is still going strong! Over the past few years, hundreds of individuals have been blessed to come to a welcoming space, no questions asked, to choose food that they and their families need. It is no exaggeration to say that it has been a lifeline for many.
We can't thank our Asbury friends enough for all your help with helping serve our neighbors in need. Your continued generosity with our food pantry ministry is incredibly appreciated.

I Need Food
Our food pantry is open from 9:00 am-4:30 pm each weekday (Mon-Fri) inside the main entrance. We have fresh milk, eggs, produce, pasta, and other non-perishable items available.
There is no check-in, approval process, or people you need to contact in order to get food. Just please come by and feel free to take what you need.
Help Volunteer
As you can imagine, the size, scope, and vision for the pantry have developed and there is a need for new hands to help continue the work. Currently, there are 17 volunteers serving in many capacities to ensure that shelves are stocked for pantry guests. But more help is needed! We always welcome volunteers, even if it is once every few weeks or for a season.
If you are interested in touring the pantry and “Green Room” and learning about the variety of tasks available to volunteers, please contact Director Rosie Sanders at or 913.593.7177.
Donate Food
Pantry volunteers are always looking for new ways to supplement the inventory on hand, and many partnerships with the community have been formed. However, the contributions of Asbury members and friends continue to be the driving force for collecting food for our neighbors.
Food donations may be placed on the donation cart just inside the main church entrance, or, if dropping food off after hours, in the sealed plastic bin outside the front door (our volunteers check this on a regular basis and make sure any food items get placed inside the food pantry storage room).
Can I donate money instead to the Food Pantry?
Absolutely! Monetary donations may be made by calling the church office at 913.432.5573, or online at http://www.easytithe.com/visitasbury.
