KanCare Expansion Presentation with Lacey Kennett
All ChurchDid you know that an estimated 150,000 Kansans fall into a health coverage gap? They earn too much to qualify for KanCare (the Kansas Medicaid program), but make too little to receive federal subsidies to buy private insurance.
As United Methodists, our call is to advocate for policies that promote access to health care, including mental health and addiction resources (United Methodist Social Principles, 162.V). In this spirit, our Church and Society team is happy to welcome Lacey Kennett, Director of Communications for the Alliance for a Healthy Kansas, to Asbury on Thursday, February 29 at 7 pm in the MSR for a special talk about Medicaid expansion in Kansas.
Ms. Kennett will help us navigate what Medicaid expansion would look like and how it can help both save lives and ensure that our rural hospitals stay open and operational. All are welcome to attend this special event.
