Music At Asbury

From stunning organ, bells, and choral music, to a vibrant praise band, the music at Asbury

provides stimulating and meaningful worship experiences for all.

Asbury Chancel Choir meets Wednesdays from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Music Seminar Room (lower level, west wing) and sings during the 9 a.m. service. The Chancel Choir is open to all adults age 18 and beyond! Excellent musical skills are not needed in order to participate -- a love of music and positive attitude are the only requirement for singers. The Chancel Choir does a large program right before Christmas, and does several special pieces and services at other times of the year. In 2014, the Chancel Choir joined with the Chancel Choir from First Baptist Church in Columbia, MO, to perform the Rutter Requiem, and also that year they performed Part 1 of Handel's Messiah. In addition to classical music, the Chancel Choir also sings different styles including pop, jazz, gospel, and show tunes. Contact Lindsey Lang with any interest in joining.

Asbury Worship Team is a group of 8 singers and 3 band members that performs at the 11 a.m. service. They specialize in more contemporary Christian music, but is equally at home performing any music style. The group is currently a closed group, but the time often arises when they need additional singers or instrumentalists for special events. Contact Lindsey Lang with any questions.

Asbury Handbell Choir is open to all adults age 18 and beyond. They rehearse 5-6:30 p.m. on Sunday evenings in the sanctuary and present music once a month at the 9 a.m. service. Strong musicianship is not necessary to be a part of this ensemble, just a willingness to learn.

There are also music opportunities available to children at Asbury. Learn more about them on the "Children" page.
